CS GAD launches new database management systems software at ACB Hqrs – Kashmir Reader
JAMMU: As part of the celebration of the World Anti-Corruption Day, the Secretary-Commissioner of the Department of General Administration (GAD), Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, today visited the headquarters of the Anti-Corruption Office of the Jammu and Kashmir (ACB) and launched the Office’s new and improved database there.
The Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Anand Jain, the Special Secretary, (Vigilance) GAD, Shabir Hussain Bhat and other ACB officials were present on the occasion.
The Commissioner-Secretary has launched new database management systems software that will further facilitate the process of issuing notices of compliance to employees in a faster and more transparent manner. In addition, the new database software will further enhance ACB’s vigilance authorization system.
Dwivedi, while speaking on the occasion, said that technology initiatives such as the implementation of e-Office, an online vigilance authorization system and a new core management system Data will also help to quickly resolve outstanding issues at the ACB and GAD level. He added that in the past two years, a record number of prosecutions have been sanctioned, which has paved the way for a swift resolution of the cases. He emphasized the time-bound completion of ministerial investigations in addition to soliciting comments from ministries on alert notes and notices.
A detailed presentation regarding the ACB issues was given by the Director of the Anti-Corruption Office who informed that due to the introduction of the WhatsApp hotline, toll-free number and Satrak mobile app Nagrik, there is a huge increase in the influx of information regarding corruption by government employees. This year, the number of trap cases has increased by more than 100% compared to last year, he added.
Later, the Commissioner-Secretary discussed various important issues concerning the functioning of the ACB.
The Commissioner Secretary observed that the delays in Regular Departmental Actions (ADR) with various departments need to be investigated and addressed. He also stressed the need to build the capacity of investigators.
